& Camp Culture

International Youth Camp - what is that?

This means, of course, that there will be participants from many different countries, more than 20,
from all continents.

Many of the participants come from youth-, student- and anti-imperialist organisations in their countries.
From very small groups of a few people to big groups. So far well beyond 200 people from countries outside Denmark
have announced their participation.

They will all be able to tell about the situation of the youth and its struggle in their countries - passing on their
experiences. Many will bring documentaries, exhibitions, materials, their culture.
Most of them will hold workshops about their country or region - or about other questions where they have
something to tell.
Some will be presented at the main discussions in the big tent.

The Danish participants will come from different organisations, that wish to show 'the other Denmark' -
the progressive Denmark and its struggles. Student organisations, trade union youth, anti-war organisations, popular
movements against the European Union and many more will arrange workshops and other activities to show and
discuss their work. The host of the camp is DKU - the Communist Youth League of Denmark. The camp will be led
by the International Camp Committee, elected at the previous camp in Mexico 2004.

The main languages in the Camp will be Danish, German, English and Spanish. But also Turkish, French, Arabic and
the Scandinavian languages will be common.
At the big arrangements, for instance in the big tent, there will interpreters and hearphones - and solutions will be
found for the other events.

The Camp in Denmark is the 20th International Anti-fascist and Anti-imperialist Youth Camp

Prices and practical

The Danish currency is the Krone. Danes pay 995,- kr. for the Camp. This include participation, bedding, activities
and three meals a day.
Because of the higher travel expenses the price of foreign participants is very low - 500 kr. (67 Euros) - for the
entire stay.

The number of indoor beds is limited - and many will sleep in tents. Everyone who can bring a tent along is asked
to do so. Everyone must remember sleeping bags etc.

There is public transport (busses) to the Camp - but foreign participants who have announced their participation and
time of arrival at Copenhagen Airport or Central Station can be picked up and brought to the Camp by car.
